What are you up to now?
I work in Corporate Social Responsibility and am responsible for the end-to-end management of strategic business development of dozens of corporate partners that are invested in diversifying their talent pipelines. This experience has afforded me the connections to engage numerous industry leaders in the community and across the country in STEM, education, business, and health sciences.
How did Girls Inc. help you grow as a ‘leader’ in your own life?
The work I do has largely been influenced by my experience with Girls Inc. as a young girl. My primary career objective is to align and introduce innovative learning opportunities for the next generation, so they can thrive and experience careers in ways they may never have thought. Not only are we preparing the workforce for the world, but we are preparing the world for our workforce. In a period of rapid expansion and through the pandemic, I have been able to embrace change and lead a team of individuals dedicated to providing meaningful career development and workforce readiness.
What would you like to tell the supporters of Girls Inc.?
Without the support and love of Girls Inc. and the influence of the organization in my life, I would have not been able to navigate challenges and obstacles with confidence. Knowing that I can, to this day, lean on my Girls Inc. foundation in the event of any need cannot be taken for granted.
What advice would you give to girls knowing what you know now?
Forgive yourself and accept yourself for the person you are today. Embrace life and keep the Girls Inc. motto close in everything you do, especially finding inspiration in being bold.
Is there anything further you’d share around pro-girl spaces / environments or being part of a community?
I appreciate Girls Inc.’s honesty and direct approach to navigating social, physical, and emotional challenges young women and girls go through. The spaces where we were able to feel safe and comfortable with asking questions, going through puberty, body changes, experiencing heartbreak, love, sex, sexuality etc. that can be life altering are critical in maintaining the safety of our girls and young women.
