GIRLS INCORPORATED AND THE GOLDMAN SACHS FOUNDATION KICK-OFF FIRST ANNUAL "CAMP" FOR ASPIRING WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS OF TOMORROW

Weeklong Corporate Exploration Camp Motivates Girls to Become Business Owners

NEW YORK, NY July 2006 - Girls Incorporated and The Goldman Sachs Foundation kick-off Girls Inc. Corporate CampSM for Entrepreneurs - a unique six-day experience that gives teen girls from across the country the opportunity to fuel their entrepreneurial spirits, showcase their talents and sharpen their leadership skills. From July 22 through July 28, 2006, this one-of-a-kind summer experience awards 15 girls, ages 15-18, an exciting corporate adventure at Goldman Sachs' New York headquarters offering insight into the demanding business world and access to successful female professionals.

Girls Incorporated, a national non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring all girls to be strong, smart and boldSM, partnered with The Goldman Sachs Foundation, a global philanthropic organization funded by The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc., to develop a program that provide girls the opportunity to manage new ventures, make business decisions and understand how entrepreneurship can lead to economic independence. During the camp, participants attend business plan coaching sessions lead by Goldman Sachs, address the concerns of sustaining a business and interview women entrepreneurs in New York City.

To round out their experience, "campers" also meet female restaurateurs and hear presentations from women-operated non-profit organizations and other businesses executives to gain additional knowledge of the challenges and rewards of entrepreneurship.

"We are delighted to partner with The Goldman Sachs Foundation on this year's Girls Inc. Corporate CampSM for Entrepreneurs," said Joyce Roch', President and CEO of Girls Incorporated. "This is a unique opportunity that encourages girls to take a compelling idea and transform it into a business model. They develop confidence, take calculated risks and demonstrate leadership. These are invaluable skills that will carry them into college and beyond, and we're proud that one of the world's most prestigious investment banks appreciates the importance of empowering girls."

Stephanie Bell-Rose, president of The Goldman Sachs Foundation says, "Our mission is to promote excellence, create innovative learning experiences and improve the academic performance of young people globally. Partnering with Girls Inc. only supports the Foundation's mission by giving these young ladies an opportunity to explore the possibilities of their futures."
